Today, I Went On A Walk.

Of course, I had to take pictures around the neighborhood!

Hello everyone! Today, I went on a walk. It is in the 60s here in Columbus, and one of the things I love to do is go for a walk when it’s this nice outside. As someone who doesn’t have a license, walking and public transport are usually my go-to modes of transportation. However, I’ve had my temporary license for a month or so now, so I haven’t been walking as much as I usually do. Getting to go outside and take in the fresh air of my neighborhood was really nice!

I think people underestimate the power that the sun holds. During the winter, I am usually not as chipper and excited as I am during other (warmer) parts of the year. Seasonal depression comes quietly and without warning, despite my knowledge of the leaves dying and the wind growing colder. By the time we’re in the middle of winter, I am definitely a different person. I’m not as happy, not as fun to be around.

So, when the weather starts getting warmer and the sun is out for longer, I try to savor it. I always feel like the trees that are beginning to grow new buds, or the crocuses that sprout out of the snow. A new spring is always something I look forward to because I start to feel like myself again.

The best part about spring’s arrival is how energized other people are as well. I have always enjoyed seeing parents with their children at the park for the first time in ages, and dogs being walked by cheerful dog owners. I saw a few kids and dogs playing outside today while on my walk, and it made me hopeful that the warm weather might stick around this time.

Of course, the weather in Ohio is constantly changing; I hear it’s supposed to rain for the rest of the week. I love the rain, but I will miss today’s sun. Luckily, all the rain we’re supposed to get means that the next time it’s this nice outside, I might see some more flowers! Then again, since it IS Ohio, I won’t get my hopes up too much. For all I know, we could get snow by the end of the week!

All in all, today was nice. I got to soak in the sun’s rays, take some pictures, and go on a walk with my husband in tow. I really, really hope that I get more days like this.

Thanks for reading, everyone! I thought reflecting on my walk from today would make for a good read. I really am happy that the weather is finally beginning to turn towards spring! I missed being warm outside.

If you liked this post, let me know! Feel free to follow me on Twitter for weekly blog updates, as well as daily Mary shenanigans. Also, feel free to take a look at my Ko-fi! There’s not a whole lot on there right now, but I do have my tip jar open. If you’d like to leave a tip, please do! Every penny I get through Ko-fi goes directly to funding the self-publication of my novel. Of course, don’t feel pressured to do so. People stopping to read my posts makes me happy enough!

Thanks again for reading today’s post! If you live somewhere where it’s nice outside today, go and take a walk. I’ll see you back here next week with something new!
