Moving and Laundry

I never realized how many clothes I truly had until after I started packing them. All of my dresser drawers, as well as my closet, full of clothing I had held onto for years.

“Why don’t I get rid of some of these things?” I asked myself one day. So I did. I got rid of a lot of clothes that didn’t fit anymore, ones that won’t fit for now that I couldn’t see myself wearing anymore (since I’ve got this pregnant belly), and some that I just couldn’t justify holding onto any longer. Still, once I was all done and looked at the results, I just saw a mountain of clothes ready to go back into the drawers once we moved.

It’s amazing how many clothes accumulate over the years. We have half of our clothes here at the new place and I still have so many more clothes to go and get at the old one…it’s overwhelming just how many clothes I have! Matt has like, a good solid wardrobe and I’ve got Mount Clothes.

I tend to go through the whole “cleaning out my closet” thing at least once or twice a year. I donate all the clothes to Goodwill, keep some to recycle into various household things (like cleaning rags and dusters, for example) and toss the clothes that are too ratty to be donated or recycled. Still, I’m always in awe of the amount of clothes I truly have. I feel like I’m always doing laundry.

Of course, this is going to be even worse when Olivia is born. Babies go through so many clothes…I plan on just living in the laundry room until she’s old enough to wash her own clothes. Between her and I, I’ll never be able to leave the washing for later!

Today’s blog post is brought to you by the infinite amount of clothing I’ve been washing lately. We moved into our new place and there’s a laundry room right next to our living room, so it’s much easier to remember to do the laundry now. I’ve been at it since Day 1 of this new place, it feels like…at least everything is finally getting clean!

Thanks for reading this stream-of-consciousness post! I like doing these every once in a while just to have something different to post besides stories or reviews. If you liked what you read, and you want to keep updated whenever I post again, feel free to subscribe below! You can also follow me on Twitter, since I always post the blog there as well.

Remember, I’m posting differently now to give my mental a little break as we move in and get ready for Baby Olivia! So I’ll be back in two weeks with something new, and don’t forget about the monthly update on the last Monday of the month. Thanks again for reading!
