It me! This is at 21 weeks. I’m looking more rotund by the day!

Hello everyone! I know I always say that each month flies by, but I genuinely did not believe that it was time for the Monthly Wrapup post until Matt told me this morning. Can you believe it!? March really did go by way too quickly. I cannot believe that this week will be the beginning of April! I feel like I’ve been doing nothing but sleeping and worrying about Baby Stuff, so maybe that’s why time got away from me this month. Either way, a little bit has been going on in life. Let’s get into it!

Momma Worries

Here’s Olivia doing her best Voldemort impression. She’s a little scary looking now, but I’m sure she’ll grow into her good looks!

This whole month, I’ve been beginning to feel the anxiety of eventually having a newborn child in my life. I feel like I’m in a unique situation because I can’t really start “nesting” until we move in May, and even then Olivia Jo’s room won’t be finished until probably after her birth (apparently putting drywall in a room is expensive…I honestly had no idea!). Knowing that I’ll begin to have all of this baby furniture and nowhere to put it has been making me feel very worried about bringing Olivia home.

Of course, I’m in the middle of my pregnancy right now, so I know it’s just my hormones making me feel more anxious than I normally would be feeling. I imagine that if I weren’t as pregnant as I am, or if I wasn’t pregnant at all, I would be more comfortable with the whole moving thing. Adding the feeling of not being in complete control of my baby’s future living situation makes me feel way more anxious about the change than I probably should be. At the end of the day, I know that it will be fine! Matt and I always figure out what to do.

At first, we wanted Olivia’s room to be finished and done by the time she arrives, but now I know that financially it’s not possible to get the room up to where I think it needs to be before that day. So, the new plan is to finish the room before she’s too old to fit into the bassinet. Of course, I would prefer the room be at least done enough to put all her furniture in her space (since we’re moving into a smaller space in general, I don’t want it to be too cluttered). However, as long as she has a finished room by the time she’s ready for her crib, I guess it will be okay!

Not being able to prepare her space physically will probably take its toll on my mental health in the short term, but I know it’ll come together when it’s time! I just have to be patient and remember that everything will get done when it’s done. I just hope that my lovely husband won’t be too exhausted from helping me keep our baby thriving to actually put her room together if life ends up happening that way…we’ll see!

Birthday Boy!

The birthday boy himself!

Speaking of my lovely husband, his birthday was this past week! He and I are the same age now, 28, which means I’m that much closer to 29…and he jokes about it everyday! I think he had a good birthday day, but the whole week has totally been a birthday week. He used PTO for a 5-day weekend (jealous) and has been playing Elden Ring, his birthday gift from me, the whole time. If you know him, I’m sure he’s told you all about how he loves the game!

We spent time with his mother for brunch and his father for dinner over the week. It was nice to see his mom specifically because we haven’t seen her in a long time! My dad also took us to dinner this past week, which was nice as well. On his actual birthday, I gifted him Swedish Fish and pistachios, which are his favorite snacks. He doesn’t like cake too much, but he LOVES my mother’s baking. Earlier in the month, she brought him a birthday cake since she wouldn’t be in town for his actual birthday.

I plan on taking him to see The Batman later today, and buying dinner for him too! I try to make sure he’s a little bit spoiled for his birthday, since he spoils me every other day of the year. I love him a lot, so I try to show him some extra love during his birthday celebrations. He deserves it!

Sonic 2: Electric Boogaloo

I’m SO excited, you have no idea

Everyone knows that I love Sonic the Hedgehog. When the trailer for the second live-action movie came out, I was over the moon. That first teaser trailer introduced my favorite Sonic character, Knuckles the Echidna, into the live-action universe. I can’t even explain how excited I am to see this movie.

The final trailer came out this month, revealing more of the actual storyline. To me, it kind of reminds me of the storyline to Sonic 3 and Knuckles, one of the OG Sonic games. In that game, Knuckles is misled by Dr. Eggman into believing that Sonic is the “bad guy” trying to take the power of the Master Emerald away from Angel Island. In reality, Eggman was the bad guy all along! I think that the movie will bring in elements from both Sonic 2 (since Tails is also being introduced in this film) and Sonic 3 and Knuckles, as well as bringing their own original story to the film like they did with the first one.

The first Sonic movie was an introduction to the character, and I really enjoyed it as a big Sonic fan. This movie looks to be more intense than the last one, and I’m really hoping they bring in more elements from the video games because I feel like it will make for a movie that both casual Sonic fans and diehards alike will genuinely love. It comes out April 8th, so expect me to be gushing about it sometime that weekend!

Music Obsessions

I love them. (https://www.elle.com/culture/music/a39408374/dua-lipa-megan-thee-stallion-sweetest-pie/)

Imma be real honest…I have no idea what new music is out right now. The only new song that I know of is Megan thee Stallion and Dua Lipa’s newest song, “Sweetest Pie”. Other than that, I’ve been listening to either Super Mega Cast or music that I grew up with or haven’t heard in a while to sing along to while I drive to work.

That being said, I still put together a playlist for this month! I’ve got some good stuff on there. Besides “Sweetest Pie”, I’ve got that “Frozen” remix that’s all over Tik Tok, a Foo Fighters classic (RIP Taylor Hawkins), and some other goodies that I think you’ll enjoy! I even put my favorite Sonic Adventure 2 level’s song on this playlist. I’m not ashamed to admit that I could probably recite the whole song right now if you asked.

If you’re interested in the playlist this month, click here to listen!

March went by entirely too fast. I’m excited to be officially past the halfway part of my pregnancy, but I wish time would slow down so I can enjoy it more! Thanks for reading, as always. I didn’t do much else besides sleep, but what I was awake for I really enjoyed. I hope that April is a slower month so I can enjoy more time with everything and everyone, especially because the weather is going to be nice and warm…in theory…
