MJ hiding within the jungle that was the pre-rearranged bay window setup. It’s more cat-friendly now!

Hello everyone! It’s the end of February already, which means I’m back with a monthly wrap-up. The shortest month of the year really felt long to me. That being said, I’m still surprised it’s almost March!

I’ve been very much in my own head this month. I feel like it’s mostly because this is the peak of my seasonal depression, but there are definitely other factors that have contributed to this little bubble I’ve put myself in. Despite not really paying attention to the outside world, I’ve celebrated some mini accomplishments this month in my own life, and that’s something…

Pinks and purples blurred the sky as I walked down the street. My heartbeat was punctuated by my steps, my stride urgent. I needed to make it to the office before he did or else this plan would fail.

As I walked into the main lobby of the offices he worked in, I was greeted by the receptionist. “Hey, Georgia,” Diane said, smiling a little too happily for the early hour. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m sorry, I don’t have time to talk,” I told her as I approached the desk. “Can you let me into my husband’s office…

I got my hair cut this week! I’m going back and forth on it, but overall, I’m cool with the change…either way, it’ll grow back! (alternatively, this photo is titled “Did I forget to post last Monday…?”

Hello everyone! If you didn’t notice, last Monday I completely forgot to post! The reason for this is that I had just started my vacation. Before I requested my time off, I was feeling pretty burnt out. I was working my normal amount of hours, but I hadn’t really had a long time off since my honeymoon two years ago! One morning, I woke up and realized that I didn’t want to go to work for the first time in a long time. That day, I requested a week off. A few days later, one of my favorite coworkers ever…

MJ has finally gotten comfortable enough to sleep upstairs with us! She usually sleeps in the dirty clothes basket, but one day I came upstairs and she was asleep on the bed. Yay!

Hello everyone! I am very excited to finally be in 2021. Although I don’t have high hopes in terms of things going back to “normal”, I do believe that this year will be much better than the last. Over the past month, I’ve not really done a whole lot. Seasonal depression and working more resulted in a very blah January. Of course, I did accomplish some things that are worth talking about!

Disclaimer: Obviously not my characters!

*This is a continuation of last week’s post. If you haven’t read it yet, click here!*

There are other roles to put in your story that can be optional, if you so choose. I like to include these next three roles because it helps flesh out a story and make it believable. You can write a story with just the three roles from last week’s post, but in my opinion it doesn’t feel like a full story without the Love Interest, the Best Friend, and the Mentor.

Love Interest: the Moon to Your Star

Everyone loves a Love Interest. There are so many different options for the…

None of these characters are mine by the way…lil disclaimer for ya.

Hello everyone! Today, I thought I’d write about one of the most important parts of any story: the characters. Sure, you don’t NEED humanoid characters in a story to make a story great. For example, you can write about a leaf floating down into the river. Telling the leaf’s story gives it life, and in my opinion, the leaf becomes a character in its own story. Today isn’t about the metaphorical character, however. I want to talk about physical, real characters! …

MJ gets it.

Hello everyone! I didn’t plan ahead very well today. You see, I had to wake up early to go to the BMV to get my temporary license (yes, it’s happening, I might actually get my license this year), but I went to bed late last night. Instead of putting off the BMV (again), I actually got up and went down there!

Unfortunately, that meant when I got home, I needed more sleep. So I took a nap!

I used to hate naps, as most children do. Why waste time sleeping when I could spend time doing kid stuff?? Now that…

The first cloud-related picture of the new year.

2021 is here, and I couldn’t be happier. I know that the problems of 2020 aren’t going to disappear now that the new year has begun, but I think it’ll be a much better year than 2020 ever was. We can only go up!

I’ve never been a huge fan of New Years Resolutions. To me, they’re a lot to live up to. I have a hard time keeping track of my day-to-day anyway (thanks, ADHD), so making big goals for the year sounds daunting and impossible. …

For starters, the Great Conjunction happened! But I missed it because it was cloudy in Ohio.

Hello everyone! It’s the last week of 2020, and boy am I ready to say goodbye to this crazy, stressful, anxiety filled year. The pandemic is far from over here in the states, but we’re closer to the end of it than we think! At least, I hope we are. Either way, 2021 will be better than 2020. I’m speaking it into the Universe so that we can all have a good year next year!

Before we escape this year, however, let me tell you what I’ve been up to this last month (spoiler alert: not a whole lot).

In the Name of Hades

The morning sun was peaking into my window as I woke up, unsure of where I was. A stranger’s sheets were wrapped around my torso, and I moved them off of me slowly, body aching from strenuous activity. Looking around, I realized this was not my bedroom.

A voice came from outside of the room, sounding very awake. “Hey, there’s coffee in here,” the stranger said, her voice casual. I found my clothes scattered amongst strange belongings and slipped them on before walking out into a living room. …
